BBC Radio Gloucestershires Matt Peacock being taught by Jemma Phillips how to fish at Hillview. Even Radio Presenters need a helping hand when trying fishing with a pole for the first time. It helps to have instruction when you begin fishing and to choose a venue where you will almost certainly catch fish no matter what the weather

It may seem strange to some but the instruction was definitely coming from a female and yes Matt did catch!

Hillview Lakes are situated just off the A38 approx 2 miles from Tewkesbury on the A38 Worcester Road. This fishery that is now maturing into one that has lost its ‘moonscape’ look that all venues have when first created. It is well run with regular matches mid week and weekends. It is so popular that the matchmen travel from as far as South Wales to take part in both the team and individual events that are held here. Checkout the cabins for residents

Staunton Court

This is a commercial fishery situated on the Gloucester Lebury road on the fringes of the sprawling village of Staunton and Corse. Although not a large venue it has on site shop and toilets visit the web site.

Burley Fields Lake

This lake is situated near Leckhampton which is a small village near Cheltenham. Easy access from the M5. Loads of fish with carp to 30lbs. See the article with Ian Didcote of Tewkesbury in the February 2007 edition of Improve your Coarse Fishing.

Pete’s Lake Tirley

A three acre lake situated as the name suggests at Tirley in Gloucestershire. The venue boasts 3 lakes and it is carp, carp, carp all the way! Matches are held here and the weights can be huge. If you are pleasure fishing keepnets are banned.

Wildmoor Waters

Part of the massive South Cerney Waterpark complex. This area boast hundreds of lake some trout some coarse. The majority are used by holidaymakers, birders, waterskiers, jetskiers etc etc. Wildmoor is a coarse fishery comprising two lakes. They have an annual membership but also have a limited number of day tickets.
